I just completed the most moving and compelling novel ever written. Cathy West makes her characters so real, you feel like you are in the room watching the scene unfold. Bridge of Faith deals with divorce, domestic violence, and PTSD and the crushing emotions they invoke. Julia has returned home to Vermont after experiencing the nightmare of marital abuse and the death of her abusive husband. She is broken and fearful along with her two children who also suffered abuse. Reid Wallace; a news correspondent has returned to Vermont also, suffering with PTSD. Julia and Reid, childhood sweethearts were married at a very young age and Reid left her after two months of marriage. This left Julia feeling angry, hurt and unworthy of love. When she runs into Reid again the sparks fly from her deep anger and hurt. Her son Mark, who is actually Reid’s son, which he never knew about, is an angry child lashing out at everybody. You have to get this book and read how through the help of God, they overcome giant obstacles. They learn to love and trust again, God and each other. This is a beautiful love story.Cathy West is one great writer. I was gifted this book for a review and I cannot say enough good about it.
