Beneath the Blackberry Moon Part 2: the Sacred Writings: (Christian Native American Historical) (Creek Country Saga)

Standard

The Scared Writings is the second part of Beneath the Blackberry Moon. by April Gardner. The first book in the series, The Red Feather, leaves the reader rather anxious to find out what will transpire in the year Totka has promised Adela’s(Copper Woman)  father that he will be gone. He does this so she will be sure that she wants to become his Indian wife and live in their village. He promises to build a lodge for her and be able to provide for her. Adella  places a bible in his hands and made him promise he would have someone to help him learn of Jesus, the great creator, because she cannot accept him and become one with him if he does not become a believer……. This book tells what led up to and why Totka became bitter and full of hatred for the white man and also other enemy tribes, even his own father. So interesting to read of their beliefs and tribal customs, superstitions, even their game of hand ball. Will Adella wait for him, can she become “Indian” and accept their customs?  Will her father keep his word?   Can Totka believe the Creator made all things? Now on to the final book in this series……I was gifted this book for my honest review.
