Copper Sunrise is the fourth book in Carol Cox’s ARIZONA TERRITORY BRIDES. Also it is my first book to read by this author……Catherine has landed a job in Phoenix, AZ. Against the wishes of her parents she is moving from the security of her family and the ranch she has grown up on. She starts her job at a land investment company and loves it. She quickly makes friends and also moves up in the company as secretary to the boss. Everything is going well, especially when she meets handsome Mitchell Brewer, a journalist for the Phoenix Clarion. Both are Christians but Catherine is so caught up in her work that she is not as faithful as she once was. They begin dating and both feel they have met their lifelong mate. Mitchell begins to suspect there is a cover up for fraud going on as some of the land sales seem to be bought up by the same company. It also leads back to the land company that Catherine works for. Mitch is determined to find out the truth no matter what. He mentions his suspicion to Catherine and she becomes upset that he could even think such a thing. Things become ugly, a man is murdered for his land. When Mitch begins to look into this he is badly beaten. When Catherine hears this, she begins to listen in on the meetings of the land company and even snooping into the files when the owner is gone……If you like wholesome, historical Western novels grounded in faith, then you will want to read this one. The book has a wonderful ending, no cliff hanger which I hate… Carol brings in the Lord and faith in her writing, something I like about christian writers. It was my privilege to read and review.
